Message from the Founder Chairman
Dear Visitors,
The Research Institute for Development Policy and Strategy (IDPS) is
more than an institution. It is the realization of a lifelong vision.
For many years, I have reflected on
the challenges and opportunities facing our communities, particularly in the areas of education, economic
development, youth empowerment, social progress, and knowledge-based growth. The establishment of IDPS is the
outcome of that vision and commitment.
I strongly believe that sustainable development can only be achieved
when decisions are guided by knowledge, evidence, research, and innovation. Communities that invest in learning
and knowledge creation are better equipped to overcome challenges and build a prosperous future.
It is with
this belief that IDPS was founded.
Among the many aspirations I hold for this institution, one stands above
all others: the establishment of a modern public library and knowledge centre in Eravur.
This is not merely a
dream of constructing a building filled with books. Rather, it is a vision to create a vibrant centre of learning,
research, innovation, and community development that will serve present and future generations.
I envision a facility that includes:

My hope is that this library will become a place where ideas are nurtured, knowledge is shared, innovation is
encouraged, and future leaders are inspired.
In my view, the true wealth of a community is not measured by its
buildings or physical infrastructure, but by the knowledge, skills, and capabilities of its people.
For this
reason, the development of this library and knowledge centre remains one of the most important long-term
objectives of IDPS.
While this vision begins in Eravur, I hope it will ultimately contribute to the
development of the Eastern Province, Sri Lanka, and beyond.
I warmly invite educators, researchers, students,
professionals, entrepreneurs, development partners, and members of our global community to join us in this
journey.
